A Night to Remember: Charity Ball Raises £10,000+ for Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue Team

When Georgina Nightingale and Claire Keane decided to host a charity ball, they weren’t just planning an evening of elegance and entertainment. They were giving back to the real-life heroes who had helped save Georgina’s life.

At the start of 2025, Georgina suffered a devastating accident that left her with a broken back. “Because of the remote location, the Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue Team were one of the services that came to help me,” she explained. “They were professional, caring, and calm, and gave me so much comfort when I needed it most.”

After being airlifted to hospital and undergoing spinal surgery, Georgina began a long recovery journey. Inspired by the incredible support she received from the all-volunteer rescue team, she and her friend Claire set out to raise vital funds so the team could continue their life-saving work.

Turning Gratitude Into Action

The pair organised a black-tie charity ball at The Village Hotel, Bury, who kindly donated their function room. Supported by local businesses including hotline™, the UK’s trusted promotional merchandise supplier, the event took place on Saturday 18th October 2025.

The atmosphere was electric. “The event was a huge success,” said Georgina and Claire. “We’ve had so many amazing comments about how much fun everyone had, and we were up dancing from start to finish!”

One of the most moving moments came during Georgina’s heartfelt speech, where she thanked the mountain rescue team for their kindness and bravery. Members of the Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue Team (RPMRT) attended and were deeply touched by the appreciation shown.

Record-Breaking Fundraising

By the end of the evening, the ball had raised an incredible £10,022, more than triple the original target and the largest single donation the RPMRT has ever received from one event in one day.

“This amount of money will be life-changing to so many,” the organisers shared. “It will enable the team to continue their amazing volunteer work and invest in essential rescue equipment.”

Meaningful Keepsakes: Custom Printed Trolley Coins

To make the event even more special, hotline™ provided custom printed trolley coins as keepsakes for the 200 guests. These recycled plastic trolley coins, were designed as a lasting reminder of the evening and the cause it supported.

Each trolley coin was attached to a personalised thank-you note, a small but thoughtful detail that made a big impression. “The guests loved this personal touch,” said Georgina and Claire.

The keepsakes not only marked the occasion but continue to raise awareness for the charity long after the event, “the extra ones were donated to the Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team for their own use”. Every time someone uses their trolley coin, they are reminded of the incredible volunteers who help keep their community safe.

A Triumph of Community Spirit

For Georgina, seeing everything come together was deeply emotional. “Myself and Claire were completely overwhelmed and in awe of the support we received and the generous donations made,” she said. “It meant so much to see everything come together after such a difficult year.”

When asked about partnering with hotline™, Georgina was full of praise:
