Raising Awareness, Changing Lives: BIADS and hotline™ in Action

The BIADS Day Centre, based in Barnsley, is part of a dedicated charity that supports individuals living with dementia and their families. The centre provides personalised care, engaging activities, and a safe, supportive environment that encourages independence and fosters a strong sense of community.

As a small organisation with limited resources, BIADS continues to face challenges in promoting its vital services. Without a budget for advertising or publicity staff, increasing public awareness remains a key priority.

To help with this, BIADS partnered with Hotline to access branded promotional merchandise. This step was crucial in boosting their profile and connecting with more people who need support. By improving their visibility in the community, Hotline helped BIADS extend their impact and share their mission more widely.

To find out more about the collaboration and its outcomes, we spoke to Ryan from BIADS.

BIADS and hotline™ working together

What first inspired you to get involved with BIADS and kept you motivated?

My motivation comes from the difference we make to people’s lives every day. Dementia can be incredibly isolating—not only for the person diagnosed but also for their families and carers. Our work helps individuals feel seen, supported, and reconnected to their community. Seeing people smile, hearing their laughter, and creating real moments of connection is what keeps me and the whole team going.

What led you to contact hotline™ for sponsorship?

I discovered Hotline while looking for ways to professionally brand our events. I was impressed by the company’s commitment to supporting charities. The quality of their promotional products stood out, and it felt like a great fit. We wanted something practical and memorable to distribute at our event, and Hotline’s branded tote bags were perfect.

How did the promotional items from hotline.co.uk enhance the event?

The items really elevated the event. From the beginning, people commented on how professional everything looked. The tote bags allowed us to distribute leaflets, pens, and other small gifts in a way that was both practical and coordinated. They also added to our visual presence at the event, helping to create a cohesive and welcoming atmosphere.

What feedback did you receive from attendees about the tote bags?

The response was overwhelmingly positive. Everyone loved the design and appreciated the high quality. People were genuinely happy to take them home. We’ve even seen some being used around town, which is fantastic for ongoing brand visibility and awareness.

Summary and Looking Ahead

Would you use similar promotional items for future events?

Absolutely. The tote bags made a great impression, and I’d definitely consider expanding our range next time. We might look into branded t-shirts or event banners to create even more impact.

How important is branding when it comes to creating a professional and lasting impression?

Branding is incredibly important. It gives credibility and shows that we take our mission seriously. Good branding builds trust and encourages people to engage with us. The right promotional products can support the event experience and continue to promote your message long after the event ends.

Would you recommend Hotline to other organisations seeking sponsorship and promotional support?

Yes, without hesitation. The entire process was smooth, supportive, and delivered high-quality results. It felt like a genuine collaboration. I’d recommend Hotline to any organisation looking to make their events feel special, professional, and memorable—without overspending.

And Finally…

What advice would you give to other organisations planning similar initiatives?

Think about your audience and how you want them to feel on the day. Small touches—like a branded bag or thoughtful handout—can go a long way in making people feel welcomed and valued. Also, don’t underestimate the power of good community engagement before and after the event.

What would you say to someone thinking about getting involved with BIADS for the first time?

Do it! Whether it’s volunteering, donating, or just popping in for a coffee and a chat, you’ll be helping make life that little bit better for someone affected by dementia. Every little bit of support helps us continue what we do, and the rewards—emotionally and socially—are huge.
