Much loved comedian Frank Carson has died aged 85. He made his TV debut in the 1860’s after winning talent show Opportunity knocks, after this he became a regular on hot TV shows including The Comedians, The Wheeltappers, Shunters Social Club and also Tiswas.
In 1987 Pope John Paul II knighted Carson in recognition of his charity work in Northern Ireland. Carson died at his home in Blackpool yesterday and will be buried in his native home of Belfast.
